Delicious and creamy casserole infused with the flavors of French onion soup and made with tender chicken and turkey bacon.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup diced chicken
  • 1/2 cup turkey bacon, chopped
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup shredded cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the orzo according to package instructions and drain.
  3. In a skillet, cook the turkey bacon until crispy. Remove and set aside.
  4. Add onions to the skillet and sauté until soft.
  5. In a large bowl, combine cooked orzo, chicken broth, chicken, turkey bacon, sautéed onions, cream of mushroom soup, cheese, garlic powder, thyme, salt, and pepper.
  6. Transfer the mixture to a greased casserole dish.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until heated through and bubbly.

Notes

  • For a vegetarian option, substitute chicken with mushrooms.
  • Feel free to add vegetables like spinach or bell peppers.
