10 cups day-old bread, cubed
4 cups milk
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
4 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup raisins (optional)
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
In a large bowl, combine the milk, granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt. Whisk until well mixed.
Add the bread cubes and raisins (if using) to the mixture. Stir until the bread is well coated.
Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and bake for 45 to 50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
For an extra touch, serve with a warm vanilla or caramel sauce on top.
